Company History

Since 1945, Great Lakes Calcium Corporation has been processing calcium carbonate from quality limestone that we bring into our dock at Green Bay, Wisconsin. Our primary market for the first forty years of business was the agricultural feed industry. They require a very pure calcium carbonate with specific particle size distribution for their various animal feeds.

In addition to serving the agricultural marketplace, Great Lakes Calcium Corporation has become very involved in industrial markets for calcium carbonate. We process the calcium carbonate that is used in numerous markets, such as glass, plastic fillers, coatings, adhesives and sealants, rubber, waste water treatment, and fuel burning boilers.

We have designed flexibility into our process equipment that allows us to work closely with customers to produce the optimal product for them. Being locally owned helps us in making decisions in a timely manner, and responding quickly to customers needs. The use of low-cost vessel transportation for our raw materials enables us to provide our products at a very competitive price.
